Answer

Course entry requirements and selection criteria vary depending on the course you're applying for. Entry requirements may consist of a minimum of year 10 -12. Selection criteria may include:

  • Enter score
  • Interview
  • Pre-selection form

What is the application process?

This varies depending on the course. The type of application you will need to make is found in the 2008 Course Guide.

You may need to apply through VTAC, through an Australian Apprenticeship Centre or direct to the Institute.

VTAC Applications: If your course of choice asks you to apply through VTAC you can obtain the VTAC guide at any newsagent or go to the VTAC website.

Direct Applications: Some courses are not listed in the VTAC Guide therefore you will need to apply Direct. These will include mid-year places and any certificate level courses. See the back of the Course Guide or the William Angliss Institute website for application forms.

Australian Apprenticeships Centre: If you're interested in a New Apprenticeship you must first find and employer. Then you and your employer must then go to the Apprenticeship Centre and they will provide you with details for different Institutes.

It is then up to yourself and your employer to make a decision on which is the right place for you to go. To find out more please visit the National Apprenticeships Centre website.
