Financial assistance will be available for eligible students undertaking Skills Deepening (Diploma and Advanced Diploma) courses through the VET FEE-HELP scheme for both Government Subsidised Courses and Full Fee Courses.

In addition to tuition fees you will also be required to pay Student Services and Amenities fees. Your student amenities fee contributes towards the cost of student services, and is also calculated on the number of student contact hours you enrol in. The cost per student contact hour is currently set at 25 cents. Student amenities fees are capped at $125 per calendar year for full time students, and $58 per calendar year for apprentices and trainees.

Other course costs may apply. Please refer to the individual department for further information.

Concessions

Students in a Government Subsidised Place in one of the following course categories: Foundation Skills, Skills Creation, Apprenticeships and Traineeships and Skills Building will be eligible for concession rates on the Tuition Contribution fees. Concessions do not apply to the Student Services and Amenities Fee, or other related course costs. Please refer to the Fees and Charges brochure for full details on the types of concessions available for students.

Full Fee Paying Courses

TAFE Courses

A number of courses offer places on a full fee paying basis. These are referred to as fee-for-service courses and do not attract Government funding. Tuition fees will vary according to each program.

Those students who do not have Australian Permanent Residency and who are not on a student visa, including New Zealand citizens residing in Australia, are required to enrol on a full-fee-basis. Other students may also have to pay full fees, please contact the Information Centre for fee schedules and exemptions.

VET FEE-HELP is available for eligible students studying at Skills Deepening level. For all other course categories, instalment options may be available.

Higher Education

Degree level courses are offered as full-fee-paying courses at William Angliss Institute. Refer to the Degree section on page 12 for a cost breakdown.

FEE-HELP is available for eligible students.

Refund Policy

For all courses other than Skills Deepening, if a student withdraws, by written notice at any time up until four weeks after the scheduled commencement date of the course, the tuition fee will be refunded, in excess of the minimum fee (which may be kept as an administration charge), and any other fees and charges paid by the student.
Refunds on withdrawals from the Skills Deepening courses will comply with the refund regulations applying to VET FEE-HELP regardless of whether a student is accessing a loan.
For more information please see the Fees and Charges brochure available from the Information Centre.

VET FEE-HELP

William Angliss Institute is able to offer eligible students VET FEE-HELP from July 2009. You will be eligible if you are an Australian citizen or permanent humanitarian visa holder enrolling in a Skills Deepening level course, and meet VET FEE-HELP criteria. VET FEE-HELP is an Australian Government loan scheme for both Government-funded and fee-paying students. It enables you to defer part or all of your tuition fees until you are working and can afford to pay them back. Repayment is made through the Australian taxation system once your income reaches a certain level.

William Angliss Institute is a higher education provider which means that students enrolled in a Degree course, and who meet the eligibility requirements, can apply for FEE-HELP.
