Trainees from William Angliss Institute (NSW) win Trainee of the Year at the Caravan and Camping Industry Association (CCIA) Awards of Excellence
Recently the Caravan and Camping Industry Association (CCIA) of NSW held their Awards of Excellence with over 200 guests from 100 sites. The Minster of Tourism Jodi McKay assisted in the presentation of some of the 23 categories for Business Excellence.
William Angliss Institute is proud to announce Rebecca and Melissa Smith current trainees received Awards of Excellence in the Trainee of the Year - Park category. In addition to this, their employer Nepean River Holiday Village in Emu Plains (West of Sydney) was awarded a prestigious Award of Excellence for the Best South Coast Holiday Park 3 ½ - 4 Stars from more than 100 sites. (Go to http://www.nepeanriver.holidayvillages.com.au for more details on the village.) I spoke to the Park’s Manager Paula Ward, to discuss the girl’s achievements in winning the award and how completing a Certificate II in Hospitality traineeship with William Angliss Institute has enhanced the park’s reputation and the girl’s career progression.
Paula said; “The girls have more confidence, stronger leadership skills, and their attention to detail and standards of work have improved dramatically….. They now look at things from both a customer and business perspective, which is a great benefit to us…. I am looking forward to seeing even more development from both Rebecca and Melissa after they complete the Certificate III in Hospitality”
After speaking to Paula I took some time with Rebecca and Melissa to ask them about receiving the award and what training with William Angliss Institute has done for them. As their trainer and assessor I have witnessed firsthand Rebecca and Melissa overcome adversity and show great commitment and determination to achieve their goals.
Rebecca said “It was great to learn how to communicate with people better, and develop my current and future skills” and Melissa expanded on this by adding “I have an even better understanding of my job and working environment, I have implemented many of the new things I have learnt during my training”
Rebecca and Melissa Smith have now been enrolled into Certificate III in Hospitality, with William Angliss Institute, and they are both looking forward to developing even more skills and enhancing there career.
William Angliss Institute congratulates both Rebecca and Melissa Smith and Australian Villages Group - Nepean River Holiday Village for all their achievements, success and support of the traineeship programs.
