Yarra Valley reveals wine secrets

Members from the Angliss Wine Society have delved into the finest that the Yarra Valley has on offer, in a one-day tour of the region. The Wine Society offers students a forum in which they can experience special wine-related events, hear from experts and discuss everything wine-related.

Enhancing the student experience is a vital part of providing positive educational opportunities on campus at William Angliss Institute. Extra-curricular activities and events are important for socialising with students from other courses, helping build individual confidence, and providing exposure to diverse cultures, food and interests.

The group visited the Four Pillars Gin Distillery for a tour and tasting, sampled wines at the Punt Road Winery, followed by visits to the Napoleone Brewery and Ciderhouse and the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery.

Moving out of the classroom and engaging with businesses in the local tourism, hospitality and foods industry is an essential aspect of education at William Angliss Institute. Learning about locally produced wines and produce is vital to building knowledge and highly sought after skills in the commercial world.
