We’re cuckoo for Koko Black

Koko Black has become a household name since it hit the Melbourne scene in 2003. Known for gourmet chocolate bars, pralines, truffles and all things delicious and chocolaty, it has been likened to Belgian-style chocolate due to its high production standard and premium ingredients.

William Angliss Institute students were treated to a presentation by Koko Black HR Coordinator Daniel Williams and Koko Black rising star and Angliss alumni Ashleigh Price, who spoke about the opportunities that are available to Angliss students and the supportive culture that Ashleigh has experienced working at Koko Black.

Daniel (pictured) said, "We get a lot of the Institute's students. What sets them apart is their attitude and eagerness to learn but we've also learned a lot from Angliss students."

Angliss' Program Leader Patisserie & Bakery Bhaskar Adeeb said, "Koko Black is one of the leading and innovative chocolate brands in Australia and we are always delighted to know that many of our graduating students work with them and contribute to the industry while pursuing their passion for chocolate."

Ashleigh began as a Koko Black Chocolatier, but has now advanced to the position of Team Leader. Ashleigh spoke about how she was given the chance to move around the many facets of the production process to gain a holistic understanding of their procedures.
This year, Koko Black welcomed nine new chocolatiers, all hailing from the Institute, and with Christmas on the horizon, Koko Black are expecting many more employment vacancies

The students who attended the presentation were encouraged to express their interest in working for Koko Black, which invariably put them at the top of the list for potential candidates, keen to start their journey with the esteemed confectionary company.

At the end of the presentation, students sampled a selection of Koko Black chocolates including, the smooth Café Latte, crunchy Hazelnut Cluster and Sienna Strawberries. At the conclusion of the presentation, students were presented with a gift bag full of delicious Koko Black goodies.
