Senior Lecturer Event Management

Biography

Effie is a senior lecturer at William Angliss Institute, Melbourne, Australia. She coordinates and teaches a range of event subjects from the Bachelor of Event Management, where she served as course leader (2021-2023). She also teaches subjects in the Master of Philosophy: Research Proposal and Research Principles and in the Master of International Hospitality Entrepreneurship and Master of International Hotel Leadership: Design Thinking for the Experience Economy.

Effie has published papers in ‘experiences’ relating to tourism and events, overseas study tours and sporting brands. She keeps abreast of event industry developments running annual seminars for students, alumni, and industry.

Effie is a member of the Council for Australasian Tourism and Education (CAUTHE). She served on the CAUTHE executive committee for three years (2020-2023) and regularly reviews papers for quality journals and serves on editorial boards for Journal Vacation Marketing, Journal of Destination Marketing and Management, Frontiers in Sustainable Tourism and Event Management.
