A world of opportunities as Intrepid Travel partners with Angliss
Specialist training provider William Angliss Institute has inked a new partnership with a world leader in responsible travel, Intrepid Travel, bringing education and industry together to benefit students with scholarships, excursions and more.
With both organisations mutual interest in developing tourism leaders and both with a base in Melbourne, the partnership builds on previous collaborations including guest lectures about sustainable travel.
To kick off the partnership, Angliss students visited the Intrepid Travel office to hear from the General Manager of Purpose about becoming a Certified B Corp, considerations when planning tours, and industry best practices.
Intrepid Travel's General Manager of Purpose, Sara King, said, "Intrepid is thrilled to be partnering with William Angliss Institute to help foster the next generation of tourism professionals. We have over 30 years' experience in responsible and sustainable tourism to share with students and look forward to seeing the positive contributions they will make to our industry in the future."
Opportunities for Students
Angliss students can look forward to new scholarship opportunities, mentoring sessions and industry collaborations, including:
• Scholarships for commencing tourism students including one specifically supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
• Graduation awards
• Exclusive discount for current students on select Intrepid Travel tours
• Mentorship, and
• Collaboration on a learning and assessment project for higher education tourism students
William Angliss Institute Tourism Lecturer Belinda Daly said, "This partnership will open the door to amazing experiences for our students. It will provide real world expertise as part of a learning process to develop a new generation of tourism professionals and facilitate students exploring topics like responsible tourism and sustainability in tourism business operations."
