Angliss Open Day 2022 was one to remember!

What a day! The Institute’s first physical Open Day since the pandemic, and it hosted a range of activities and personalities including Shannon Bennett and Melbourne’s Lord Mayor, with nearly 900 visitors through the gates.

Shannon Bennett’s insightful presentation about his career clearly impressed the 120-strong audience, followed by thoughtful questions from prospective students and the Lord Mayor, Sally Capp.

There were demonstrations across the campus from Korean Bento Cakes, Chocolate Demos, a Fermentation Demo, Brunswick Aces’ non-alcoholic beer, wine and spirits demo, to Cabin Crew Demos and an Event styling demo.

Whether it was learning about edible treats that can be sourced from the Angliss Indigenous culinary garden, information about a career in foods, tourism, events, hospitality, or a Bachelor or Master degree at the Institute, there was something at the Open Day for everyone. There were alumni hosted food vans Digging for Fire and Yo India to keep attendees energised as well as a BBQ and delicious fudge and gelato tastings.
