How To Apply

Our 4-Step Process

Applying for your TRA TSS or OSAP skills assessment with William Angliss Institute is straightforward when you have the right support. Here is our clear 4-step process:

Step 1: Free Pre-Assessment

Submit your current CV along with any initial supporting documents (passport, employment references, qualifications, photos/videos, etc.) to our dedicated SharePoint folder.

Our specialist hospitality assessment team will review your profile and provide personalised feedback on:

  • Your likely eligibility and best pathway
  • Strength of your evidence
  • Any gaps that need strengthening
  • Recommendations to improve your submission

Most applicants receive feedback within 10 business days.

Step 2: Formal Application & Documentary Evidence Assessment (DEA)

After receiving positive feedback, you will receive instructions to register with TRA and pay the first fee. You then submit your full set of evidence through the official TRA portal.

We provide detailed guidance and checklists to help you organise strong, compliant evidence.

Step 3: Technical Interview

If your documentary evidence passes Stage 1, you will be invited to a Technical Interview with one of our experienced chef or baker assessors.

Interviews can be conducted:

  • Remotely (worldwide via secure video – most common option)
  • Face-to-Face at our Melbourne campus (recommended for applicants in Victoria)
  • Overseas in selected locations when sufficient demand exists

Step 4: TRA Outcome

TRA makes the final decision and issues your official Outcome Letter.

  • Pathway 1 applicants also receive a formal AQF qualification from William Angliss Institute.
  • Pathway 2 applicants receive the TRA Outcome Letter only.

We will guide you through the entire process and keep you informed at every stage.

Important Notes

  • All TRA fees are paid directly to TRA (not to us).
  • You do not need to be offshore — onshore applicants in Australia are welcome.
  • Priority support is available for applicants with expiring visas.
