Harper’s Butchery Award
Harper’s Butchery Award was established in recognition of Ted Harper’s reputation for innovation and quality in retail butchery in Brisbane during the 1960s and 70s. Ted wishes to encourage high-achieving butchery apprentices to follow their passion in the trade of butchery through the family’s generous donation.
This scholarship is awarded to domestic meat processing apprentices (continuing or completing), based on merit.
VALUE
One scholarship of up to $2,500 (AUD) will be available to students in Semesters 2. This is awarded to encourage students’ passion in the butchery industry by supporting their skill development, travel, living and other study related tools, resources or/and equipment expenses.
ELIGIBILITY
To be considered for this scholarship, you must:
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or hold a valid student visa or permanent Humanitarian Visa.
- Be enrolled in a Certificate III Meat Processing apprenticeship at the William Angliss Institute (Melbourne or Sydney campus).
- Demonstrate excellence in the preparation, presentation and preservation of meats.
APPLICATION
This is a nominated scholarship. Special criteria apply.
SELECTION
This scholarship is offered to all eligible applicants on the basis of Merit as indicated on this page.
OUTCOME
All applicants will be informed about the outcome within 10 weeks of the closing date.
