Greg Malouf commenced his training as an apprentice chef at William Angliss Institute in 1979.

He went on to study food in France, Italy, Austria, and Hong Kong, until he returned to Melbourne in 2001, where he stayed for over 10 years, working as Executive Chef for MoMo.

He was awarded two hats from The Age’s Good Food Guide for his take on modern Middle Eastern cuisine, fusing traditional cooking from his ancestral beginnings in Lebanon, with modern western culinary techniques.

Greg moved to London in 2012 to become Head Chef at Petersham Nurseries Cafe, where he earned a Michelin star.

Greg was honoured as ‘Ambassador’ by The American University in Beirut at their inaugural awards ceremony for his achievements in promoting and normalising Lebanese cuisine around the world.

On a recent visit to Lebanon, he received an award in recognition of his contribution to Lebanese food culture outside the country.

Renowned Australian chef and restaurateur Alla Wolf-Tasker has called Malouf the "instigator of Middle Eastern cuisine in Australia."

Greg has co-written six award-winning cookery books including Arabesque (1999)Saha (2006) and, New Middle Eastern Food (2011).
