Materials to Bring
- Please note a Photo Identification to be shown - you will need to show your photo identification (drivers licence, passport, Keypass, proof of age card, etc.), Please have ID ready to hold up.

- Note pad and Pen.

Description
Food Handlers Course (SITXFSA005 – Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety)
A food handler is anyone who works in a food business and is involved in handling food or food contact surfaces—such as cutlery, crockery, or equipment. This can include tasks such as preparing, cooking, serving, packing, displaying, transporting, or storing food, as well as processing or delivering it.
Under the Australian Food Safety Standard 3.2.2A – Food Safety Practices and General Requirements, all food handlers and their supervisors must have the necessary skills and knowledge in food safety and hygiene relevant to their work.
Course Overview:
This accredited course provides essential training for individuals working with food in the hospitality industry. It covers:

Correct food storage temperatures

Handling of high-risk ('potentially hazardous') foods
-
Personal hygiene practices
-
Cleaning and sanitising of food preparation areas

Basic pest control measures
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for: SITXFSA005 – Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety
Assessment
The assessment quiz comprises 40 questions which must be completed in one sitting (there is no option to save your answers and return to the assessment at a later time).
You have 2 attempts to complete the assessment. You need to achieve 100% to be deemed satisfactory in this task.
The portfolio will consist of completing the following:
1- Personal presentation photograph and explanation
2- Hazard report
3- Cross contamination photograph and explanation
4- Hand washing video
Important Information:

A good understanding of spoken and written English is required to successfully complete this course.

This course is designed for the hospitality sector (e.g., restaurants, cafés, small food businesses) and is not suitable for the health or aged care sectors, such as hospitals or residential care facilities.
