Angliss Event Students Bring Community Together at Sunset Market
A vibrant atmosphere filled the William Angliss Institute Melbourne campus on a balmy November Friday night as Diploma of Event Management students brought the first ever Sunset Market to life - an inspiring showcase of creativity, collaboration and community, all while raising awareness and $XXXXfor Beyond Blue.
Delivered as part of their Event Management studies, the project saw five students plan and execute from concept to completion. Their responsibilities included budgeting, marketing, internal and external communication processes, and sustainability planning.

- Maddison Treloar - Social Media and Marketing Manager
- Emily Ball - Venue and Operations Manager
Visitors were treated to live music, handcrafted goods from local artisans and a range of food trucks. Guests also enjoyed offerings prepared by Angliss students - freshly baked patisserie treats, expertly crafted cocktails by hospitality students, to house-made gelato from the Institute’s on-campus Gelateria, home to the renowned Carpigiani Gelato Courses.
Through this hands-on learning experience, students strengthened their skills in communication, teamwork, stakeholder management, problem-solving and task prioritisation.
“Participating in this event was really special in bringing the Angliss and wider community together on campus,” said Vanessa.
“Donating funds to Beyond Blue, which provides mental health information and support in Australia, is close to our hearts. People’s mental health can be affected at different stages of life and we’re grateful for all the support that allowed us to give back,” she added.
