Course Description
Develop the skills and essential theory to coordinate event operations with a Diploma in Event Management (SIT50322). This course combines theory with experiential learning and the opportunity to work on real events.
This highly regarded event management course will empower you to succeed in a dynamic and fast-paced industry. Learn everything from on-site event and venue management to project scheduling, budgeting and supplier management.
Throughout our courses, there are opportunities to explore a variety of specialties and events – everything from international sporting events to festivals and conferences.
This course requires students to work at the Angliss Restaurant and possibly be involved in off-campus events involving the serving of alcohol.
The Victorian Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate is a compulsory requirement for anybody working in an environment where alcohol is available for purchase within Victoria. All students will undertake RSA training to comply with government requirements.

Course Structure
The Diploma is delivered in 4 Stages. Stages 3 and 4 are delivered over 2 terms.
Stage 1 - Introduces the student to the Events industry with emphasis on Food and Beverage service, finance and booking systems.
Stage 2 - Is a practical stage developing the students knowledge of pitching a successful proposal to planning and participating in events.
Stage 3 and 4 - Designs, coordinates and manages projects and includes human resource management side of the business along with an individual, company and legal obligations. Work placement opportunities may exist on or off campus.
