International students get LIVE experience

International students from William Angliss Institute participated in the Live Projects program under the LIVE (Lead. Intern. Volunteer. Experience) initiative.

Students Sanders Felix, Yessica Porras, Ramasari Lim, Elly Tam and Rebecca Lu undertook a unique three week collaborative project learning experience working with students from different education institutions.
Each team was given a real business problem for a Victorian Government, business or community organisation and were supported by a mentor.

The Live Projects initiative offers unique opportunities for international students to gain invaluable real world experience.

Program Lead Hayley Bolding says "Our aim is to support international students to not only gain invaluable employability skills but also social connections through engagement with Victorian Government, business and non-profit communities."

William Angliss Institute student Sanders Felix participated in a project for the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources working with three RMIT students to research the impact of a ‘sugar tax’ on the Victorian industry.

“It was great to work with other students and have the opportunity to present in a real board room and build my confidence and professional skills,” Sanders said.

William Angliss Institute students Ramasari Lim and Elly Tam participated in a project at Cultural Intelligence, a consultancy company that delivers solutions to organisations to help in building cultural competency, awareness and skills.

‘Our project was about researching on social media platform (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) for a marketing plan strategy, as our clients are launching a book,” Ramasari said.
