Indigenous graduates step up at Ayers Rock

Twenty-two trainees graduated from the National Indigenous Training Academy’s Indigenous Trainee Program at Ayers Rock Resort (ARR) in December 2017.

Graduating with a Certificate III in Hospitality were 19 trainees from William Angliss Institute while the remaining three trainees graduated with a Certificate III in Retail also from the Institute.

Sixteen of the graduating trainees will continue on at ARR across many areas including Food and Beverage, Housing Services, Front of House and Housekeeping.

At the ceremony, 12 staff who had graduated from Voyages’ Step Up program were also recognised and received certificates for their outstanding achievements.

A number of key awards were also presented on the evening with trainee Anthony Roads selected as the William Angliss Institute Academic Excellence recipient.

In attendance were Ian Ward-Ambler, Deputy Chair of the Voyages Board who provided the opening address, and Nick Hunt, CEO of William Angliss Institute. Also present were Voyages Executive, trainees’ Managers and Supervisors and many friends and family who had travelled distances to attend.
